I recently bought a 9810 Torch which does not write about the connection, just states 3g on the phone connection. The US unboxing reviews showed 4G written on the 9810 Box. On the box i bought it did not state 4G. However in the near future when the UK receives 4g connection like the US will my phone automatically detect the 4g?

What is the difference between 3g and 4g phones?
Do 4G phones work in 3G service areas? I live where there is no 4G service but there is 3G. Will a 4G phone work?
Truth be told there really isn’t any such thing as 4G yet. Different providers advertise it but the ITU (international telecommunications union) is the governing body that defines such things and 4G is defined as speed of 100-300mbps. So far even Verizon (the fastest) only advertises 50mbps and only actually delivers about 12mbps on a good day. I’m not saying phones advertised as 4G aren’t faster than 3g phones, just that they’re not really 4G yet.
That being said, yes a 4G phone will work anywhere that a 3G phone will. The signal is the same.

Switching between Android phones, Mytough 3g to Nexus One?
Changing phones from a Mytouch 3g to Nexus One, on the same network and using the same sim card and microsd, do my apps transfer over also or do I have to repurchase them..? Is it automatic or do I have to set it up to switch over..? Thanks.
Everything should transfer over but befor you take the micro sd and sim card out, back everything on the phone up to them and move your apps to the sd can and you should be all good!

A 3G phone stands for 3rd Generation mobile telecommunications, which is basically standard here in the United States and Developed countries.
3G is basically a system of networks for your mobile device. It can download at speeds at around 500kb/s to 3.1MB/s.
"3G" and "Smartphones" aren’t different, as 3G is the type of connection used, and a Smartphone is a phone that is capable of multitasking and can do things such as run applications, play games, surf the internet etc.
Most smartphones and regular phones come with 3G, but some newer smartphones have 4G technology, which is the 4th generation of cellphones…which can basically download at faster speeds.

Are there any 3G phones that cost less than 55 $$$ a month?
I really want a 3G phone but I can’t get one like an iphone or the G1 by T-mobile because the G1 is minimum of $55 and iphone is around $75. Any suggestions?

I went on the apple website to finally buy an iphone 3g, but I can’t find it in white. Why??
Some countries are not allowed to buy officially directly through apple web site. However you can buy unused unlocked iphone from amazon, ebay… Here I found White iPhone 3GS 16GB with worldwide shipping available. Hope this will help you.
